SolarPower Europe published an award winning report on June 27th, 2018 titled “Global Market Outlook for Solar Power” and we’re happy to reveal that we installed more solar than their demand forecast predicted. Last year, the global solar market demand was over 104 gigawatts of power… that’s enough solar to power 17,056,000 homes!
The Global Market Outlook estimated total demand to be 102.6 gigawatts. China changed their solar policy in 2018, which had a negative impact on the world’s largest solar market’s demand (48GW down to 44.1GW). Although China’s demand was down, emerging and quickly growing solar markets in North America, India and Europe made up for that and then some.
Solar power demand is growing faster than any energy source in the world because costs are decreasing and more people are learning about the many financial and environmental benefits of getting solar on their houses.
